Can I erase downloaded mp3 songs from my computer after I transfer them to my mp3 player? How?

I have the SanDisk Sansa m230 mp3 player. Also, what else can I do with this player. I know that I can’t do as much as with an ipod. Is this a good player? Please give me any other advice for what I can do with this mp3 player. The answer with the best advice will get the points.
Oh, one more thing, how can I completely stop a song from playing so when I turn it back on, it’ll start from the beginning? Or am I just stuck with listening to the rest of that song?
